Will Donbass fall into Moscow hands? Severodonestk has definitely fallen and is fully occupied on Saturday, June 25th. The next target of the Russian troops seems to be another strategic point: Lyssytchansk.
In the Donbass, the city of Lysychansk (Ukraine) is almost completely besieged by the Russians on Saturday, June 25. It is the last Ukrainian stronghold in the north-east of the Donbass. The central street is a phantom and the detonations multiply amidst the soldiers. Is Lysychansk about to fall like Severodonestk (Ukraine) before? Only a river separates the two cities and the bridges are destroyed. The Ukrainians left Severodonestk in a rubber dinghy pulled at gunpoint.
The city of 100,000 is now in Russian hands. “We can’t win now. We save our men, but we will attack again, we will go back. I am so saddened by the lives lost,” said one soldier. There is only one road left to get in and out of Lysychansk, passing through a regularly bombed refinery. The battle will be fought in the fields surrounding the city. If Kyiv (Ukraine) loses Lysychansk, half of the Donbass would be under the control of the Russian army.
