The Kremlin ruled on Monday that the plan proposed by China last week to settle the conflict in Ukraine “deserves attention” but that the conditions for a “peaceful” solution were “not met for the time being”.

“We are watching our Chinese friends’ plan with great attention (…) It’s a long process. At the moment we do not see any prerequisites for this case to take a peaceful path,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. “The special military operation (in Ukraine) continues,” he added.
Russian drone strike: two dead, three injured in western Ukraine
Two people were killed and three wounded in Khmelnytsky in western Ukraine after a Russian attack involving more than a dozen Iranian-made combat drones on Sunday night, authorities said.

One of the deceased was a rescue worker killed while on duty, Khmelnytsky Mayor Oleksandr Symchychyne said on Telegram, reporting “damaged buildings” from these strikes. Shortly thereafter, the governor of the Khmelnytsky region, Serguï Gamaliï, informed him by telegram of the death of a second rescuer, who succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Russia in the crosshairs of the UN Human Rights Council
The UN chief complained that human rights were being attacked from all sides and called for them to be given a “new breath” in a world that was “going backwards”.
At his side at the opening of the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk also denounced the return of the “old authoritarianism and the “destructive wars of aggression” from a bygone era and of global scope, like us seen again in Europe with Russia’s senseless invasion of Ukraine.”
