War in Ukraine live: Russia’s unilateral ceasefire officially ends without fighting actually stopping

  • The 36-hour unilateral Russian ceasefire announced by Vladimir Putin to celebrate Orthodox Christmas ended Saturday night without actually stopping hostilities. Kyiv accuses Moscow of not honoring its own ceasefire; Russia, in turn, accused the Ukrainians of having prevented its application by forcing them to take retaliatory measures.
