- Curfew and censorship in the “Donetsk People’s Republic”. Denis Pushilin, leader of the self-proclaimed separatist state in the Donbas region, notably introduced a curfew between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. on weekdays.
- Winter will not put a “definitive end” to the counteroffensive, says the Institute for The Study of War. According to the American organization, weather conditions will not be a decisive factor this year, although they may “slow down land movements and complicate logistics.”
- A second Ukrainian wheat shipment arrived in Istanbul. The Aroyat, a bulk carrier flying the Palau archipelago flag, left the port of Chornomorsk near Odessa on Friday. It is the second ship to use a maritime corridor established by Kiev along the western coast of the Black Sea to bypass Russia’s blockade.
- Two dead in Russian attacks on Donetsk and Sumy oblasts. A 74-year-old woman was killed by shelling in the Pokrovsk region on Saturday, and one person died in attacks on Yunakivka.
- Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Chmyhal held his first meeting with Special Representative for the Reconstruction of the Ukrainian Economy Penny Pritzker on Saturday. The World Bank estimates that Ukraine would need more than $400 billion (around €375 billion) to rebuild.
- The West is fighting Russia “directly” in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday, on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. “We call it a ‘hybrid war,’ but that doesn’t change the reality,” he added, referring to financial aid, armaments and “mercenaries” from Western countries.
- A new series of rockets hit Sevastopol in Crimea on SaturdayAccording to Russian authorities, the day after a Ukrainian attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
- Ukrainian forces “continue their offensive on the Zaporizhzhia front near Verbowe, forcing the enemy to abandon their positions.”the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army reported on Saturday in its daily update.
