- “The occupation forces in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine number more than 400,000 Russian soldiers”Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov said on Monday in a broadcast on the Kiev 24 TV channel. With this number, “we have enough forces to carry out separate operations in certain areas of the front,” he explained.

- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has officially submitted Sweden’s application for membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to the Turkish parliament after a seventeen-month blockade, announced the Turkish presidency. “I welcome the forwarding” of Sweden’s accession protocol to the Turkish parliament, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, saying he looked forward to welcoming Sweden as an ally soon. - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is in Iran for talks with his regional counterparts. Iran’s IRNA agency said the ministers would discuss “issues related to the South Caucasus,” a region that includes Azerbaijan and Armenia, and “regional cooperation.” The aim of the meetings of this group of countries is to “solve the region’s problems together” “without interference from extra-regional and Western countries,” according to the agency.
- Russian-American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva sees her pre-trial detention extended until December 5th. She is accused of violations in connection with her entry in the register of “foreign agents”.
- Oleh Kiper, the head of the military administration of the Odessa region, regretted on Monday morning the attacks in the port region attributed to the Russians. “Russian terrorists attacked Odessa overnight with attack drones,” he said in a post on Telegram.
- Turkey will take part in a meeting on peace in Ukraine that Kiev is hosting in Malta on October 28 and 29. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this on Saturday after an exchange with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
