French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday called on World Health Assembly (WHO) member countries to support a resolution condemning Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and “reaffirming the full solidarity of France and the European Union with Ukraine.”

“We strongly condemn the military aggression of Russia with culpable complicity of Belarus,” the president said in a video message opening the assembly, which will meet throughout the week in Geneva.
“The consequences of this war are devastating for health, for the population, for institutions and for the health workers who are being targeted,” criticized Emmanuel Macron.
“I call on all member states to support the resolution presented by Ukraine,” which is already backed by key allies, including France, the EU and the United States.
