War in Ukraine: Macron promises Zelenskyy "to strengthen" Sending Equipment and Humanitarian Aid

During a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart on Saturday, the President of the Republic confirmed that he wanted to work to restore the country’s sovereignty.

In an hour-long phone call on Saturday, Emmanuel Macron reiterated his support for Volodymyr Zelenskyy, notably by promising to step up supplies of equipment and humanitarian aid to Ukraine during his second mandate, the Elysée tells BFMTV.

The declared goal: to work to restore Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russian attacks.

According to the same source, the president reiterated his concerns about the ongoing bombings in the country, referring in particular to those that took place in Kyiv last Thursday, when the United Nations Secretary-General and the Bulgarian Prime Minister visited the country’s capital city.

615 tons of material already transported

Emmanuel Macron wants to increase the sending of equipment to support the invaded country. To date, 615 tons of equipment have been shipped to Ukraine, including medical supplies, generators for hospitals, food aid and emergency vehicles, supplies for which Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked him in the same exchange.

Finally, according to the Elysée, the mission of French experts to collect evidence against the impunity of the crimes committed should be extended.
