New deadly attack from Moscow. At least one person was killed and four injured in a Russian bomb attack on a train station in Kherson, southern Ukraine, Ukraine's interior minister said on Tuesday, December 26.

“Kherson, in the evening. About 140 civilians are waiting at the train station for the evacuation train to depart. Then the enemy began a massive shelling of the city,” Igor Klymenko wrote on Telegram. One police officer was killed and two civilians and two police officers were injured by shrapnel, he said.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that at the time of the attack “there were many civilians there,” adding that “all services…” [de secours] Ukraine's Ukrzaliznytsia Railways said on Telegram that the station and train were damaged, but “the situation is under control and the railway is ready to continue operations.”

The city of Kherson had been occupied by the Russian army for several months in 2022 before retreating across the Dnipro River, with each side now controlling one bank. Since then, the city has been a regular target of deadly Russian bombing raids: According to the head of the Kherson military administration, four people were injured in further attacks on Tuesday, including one seriously.
