Russian President Vladimir Putin accused NATO of complicity in the conflict in Ukraine by supplying arms to the Kiev armed forces in an interview broadcast on Sunday.
“They are sending weapons worth tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine. This is really participation,” he said in an interview with Rossiya-1. “This means that they are complicit, albeit indirectly, in the crimes of the Kiev regime,” the Russian president said. The Western countries have “only one goal: the destruction of the former Soviet Union and its main part, the Russian Federation”.

“Only then, perhaps, will they accept us into the so-called family of civilized peoples, but only separately, each part individually,” he added on the sidelines of a patriotic concert last Thursday, on the eve of the first anniversary of the Russian offensive in Ukraine. In this interview, the Russian President also reiterated his call for the creation of a multipolar world.
“What are we against? Against the fact that this new world that is emerging is being built in the interest of only one country, the United States. Now that their attempts to remake the world in their image after the collapse of the Soviet Union have led to this situation, we are forced to respond,” he said.
