Tensions between Russia and the West are increasing. Moscow authorities have banned “500 American citizens” from entering Russia, including former US President Barack Obama. But also former Washington Ambassador to Moscow Jon Huntsman and General Charles Q. Brown, the future US Chief of Staff.
As CNN reports, two of his journalists, Stephen Colbert and Erin Burnett, were also denied entry to Russia. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, this is a “response to the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the government of Joe Biden”. American TV presenters Jimmy Kimmel, Colbert and Seth Meyers are also on the blacklist drawn up by Moscow. “It’s time Washington learned that not a single enemy attack against Russia will happen without a strong response,” the Russian ministry’s statement said, noting that “the “500 list” includes those who are in government and as law enforcement officers are directly involved in the persecution of dissidents after the so-called storming of the Capitol.”
