How is the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the war with Russia going? The answer is given by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who assures that Kiev is making progress on the ground and is overcoming some Russian defenses.
“The Ukrainian counteroffensive continues to progress. In some areas, Ukrainian forces have overcome Russian defenses,” Stoltenberg said after meeting new Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina on her first visit to allied headquarters. However, there are no signs that Putin’s goals have changed, he added. “The best path to lasting peace remains to increase support for Ukraine.”
Zelensky’s data
The Ukrainian army is “advancing towards Donetsk,” President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Telegram, referring to “intelligence reports about the situation at the front, about the supply of equipment and ammunition. There is our advance towards Donetsk. There are other ideas that are being implemented.”
Zelensky also received a report on the situation in the Kherson region. “The Russians continue to terrorize the areas they can reach,” the Ukrainian president added, after which “yesterday the Russian army dropped 26 bombs on the territory of the region.”
