“Goodwill has its limits. And if it is not reciprocated, it does not contribute to the negotiation process,” Sergei Lavrov said, quoted by Russian news agencies. “But we continue to conduct negotiations with the team delegated by us [le président ukrainien Volodymyr] Zelensky, and these contacts will continue,” he said.
The head of Russia’s diplomacy accused Ukraine’s president – a former comedian – of “faking” negotiations. “He’s a good actor (…), if you look closely and read carefully what he says, you’ll find a thousand contradictions there,” said the head of Russian diplomacy.
Against the background of unprecedented tensions between Russia and the West over the Russian offensive in Ukraine, he warned of the “real” danger of a third world war. “The danger is serious, it is real, it must not be underestimated,” said Sergei Lavrov, quoted by the Interfax agency.
Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, he is confident that “everything will of course end with the signing of an agreement.” “But the terms of this agreement will depend on the combat situation on the ground if this agreement becomes a reality,” he concluded.
