The figure announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine will require immense legal resources: Ukraine has reportedly collected evidence of more than 1,000,000 Russian war crimes on its territory since the start of the war.
While the British Ministry of Defense declares that the front is not allowed to move in winter, Moscow announces that it has destroyed a Ukrainian drone.
This morning we return to the highlights of the war in Ukraine on the night of Saturday, November 18th to Sunday, November 19th, 2023.

More than 100,000 Russian war crimes
Andrii Kostin, Attorney General of Ukraine, was interviewed by media group Politico during the International Security Forum in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and claimed that Ukraine has evidence of 109,000 Russian war crimes on its territory.
“We strive to document and prosecute every incident, because every war crime has its victims”he specifies, adding that the country has identified at least 400 suspected war criminals for acts such as cybercrimes and crimes against the environment, particularly in connection with the Ukrainian dam attack in early 2023.
The prosecutor general said Ukrainian authorities had identified more than 400 suspected war criminals, of whom about 300 had been charged and 66 had been convicted. These figures include direct crimes against civilians, but also four investigations into cyber war crimes and 265 investigations into environmental crimes, most of which stem from the Russian attack on the Nova Kakhovka dam earlier this year.
Although it will be difficult to bring them to justice, since many suspected war criminals are on Russian territory, the Prosecutor General hopes to do this in absentia, that is, in their absence. In addition, under the legal principle of universal jurisdiction, third countries can prosecute criminals beyond Ukraine’s borders, which could help the country carry out all these investigations.

The International Criminal Court, for its part, had already issued an international arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin. However, if it is not recognized by Russia, 124 other states would be forced to arrest the Russian president if he appears on their territory.

The drone was destroyed in Boguorodskoye, a northeastern suburb of Moscow, said Sergei Sobyanin.
The front is unlikely to change again this winter unless there are major surprises
Neither Ukraine nor Russia have made significant progress on the battlefield, which stretches for more than 1,000 km. When winter approaches, this is bound to happen “little immediate prospect of major changes on the front”the UK Ministry of Defense said in its daily update on X – formerly Twitter – on November 18.
According to the ministry, intense infantry fighting continues near Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast, in Luhansk Oblast and near Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, while casualties continue to mount. It is believed that 3,500 Russian soldiers died in the fighting to defend the left bank of the river. According to the Ukrainian Navy, the Dnipro River is located in Kherson Oblast.
Drones and artillery, including cluster grenades, would significantly hinder attacks by both sides in these sectors, stabilizing the front and dashing hopes of an advance by either side.
