War in Ukraine: Spada Aspide, what is this weapon that Ukrainian soldiers have been learning to use in Spain for three weeks?

Alignment possible “in minutes”.

This weapon, developed in collaboration between Switzerland and Italy, is a surface-to-air missilealso called anti-aircraft missile.

The Spada Aspide “is a short-range missile system against low-altitude air threats,” explains the Italian Defense Ministry. “It consists of a fire control axis and two launchers called U2. The system has great tactical mobility and for this reason its alignment is possible in a few minutes.” More than ten years ago, the manufacturer MBDA presented its missiles in the following clip.

“The main goal is not for them to become experts on the material, but for them to be able to use it,” explained Air Deployment Support Squadron (EADA) commander Colonel Carlos Forcano.

From November 1, Spain will have to take in more Ukrainian soldiers to train them.
