In Ukraine, on Tuesday 13 September, Vladimir Putin will face a counter-offensive by local Ukrainians. For the first time, the Russian media spoke of the difficulty of the fighting over the past two days. This change of tone was even accompanied by several calls for the Russian president to be sacked.
According to a document circulated on Twitter on Monday, September 12, Vladimir Putin is being attacked by two calls for his dismissal. It was shared by Dimitri Paliouga, an elected municipal official from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Its city council is asking members of the Russian parliament to file a complaint against the president. Accordingly, Vladimir Putin would have been guilty of high treason. In addition, in the last few days there has been a lack of sound, which is little known in the Russian media.
In fact, Russian journalists have not denied the severity of the fighting for 48 hours. Events that may have revealed weaknesses at the top of the Kremlin. “The first scenario, as usual, is the Kremlin narrative that was relayed to the media in Russia, which ended up transcribing that thought. (…) The second possibility is that the counter-Ukrainian offensives went so fast that it was difficult to transmit information to the media,” analyzes Dimitri Paliouga.
