According to him, this material is being used to “attack Ukrainian cities and kill Ukrainian civilians,” he denounced. The American executive, for its part, published an infographic that it said illustrates the journey of certain containers from a port in North Korea to a Russian depot near the Ukrainian border.

John Kirby also noted that North Korea is also seeking to receive Russian military equipment and “sophisticated technologies” in return, particularly aircraft, missiles, armored vehicles and missile-making equipment.

The United States has “already observed the unloading of containers by Russian boats in North Korea, which could be the first shipments” of Russian military equipment.

“This rapidly developing military partnership between North Korea and Russia, including through technology transfers (…), threatens the stability of the region and the international non-proliferation regime,” the spokesman continued.
