The White House has announced a new aid package for Ukraine’s armed forces.
The United States on Friday announced a new $270 million subsidy package for Ukraine, including the delivery of new Himars multiple rocket launchers and tactical drones.
This new package includes the delivery of four new Himars systems and will allow Kyiv to acquire up to 580 Phoenix Ghost drones, advanced weapons systems that have allowed the Ukrainian army to inflict heavy casualties on the Russian invader.

Over $8 billion
“President Biden has made it clear that we will support the government of Ukraine and its people for as long as is necessary,” said John Kirby, the White House National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator, as quoted by ABC News.
The new aid brings total US support to Ukraine to $8.2 billion, funded under the plan approved by Congress in May.
The United States has already sent 12 Himars to Ukraine. Weapons very feared by Moscow.

Up to 80 km range
The M142 Himars (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) is a multi-launch, highly mobile rocket launcher system developed by the American company Lockheed Martin. These multiple rocket launchers can fire six 227 mm caliber rockets (range up to 80 km) or one guided surface-to-surface tactical ballistic missile from the ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) family with a maximum range of 300 km.
The system is mounted on a light truck with a six-wheel, five-ton chassis from the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV).
On Friday, the Russian army claimed to have destroyed four of these units in 15 days.
