Russian strikes against energy sites in Ukraine resumed on Tuesday 11 October. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asks Westerners for an air umbrella over Ukraine.

The American capital is in fact protected by NASAMS systems (Norwegian Advanced Surface to Air Missile System). It would be a protective shield for Ukraine. In 10 seconds, these missiles use radar to detect the arrival of enemy cruise missiles and destroy them in full flight, creating a protective bubble. According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, 43 of the 84 Russian cruise missiles were intercepted on Monday. For its anti-aircraft defense, Ukraine has small man-portable rocket launchers and ex-Soviet-made S300 batteries. It is in the process of receiving more advanced systems, German IRIS, and the United States has committed to supplying at least eight NASAMS batteries.
