robot missiles 17
The anti-ship missiles robot 17 are descended from Robot 08. Produced by Saab, Robot was a further development of the French target robot CT20. The Swedish Navy ordered the robot in 1965 at a cost of 86 million Swedish crowns and deliveries started in 1967 and remained in service until 1995 with these specifications: effective range 70 km, jet engine, subsonic speed. I Robot 17 is an American Hellfire AGM-114C that has proven itself in combat. Since then, the American robot has been adapted to Swedish conditions by Swedish industry and then named Robot 17. It operates from land to ship with an initial speed of 450 meters per second and an effective range of 8 km. Like other Hellfire variants, Robot 17 is controlled by the reflection of a laser that illuminates the target. This robotic system is carried by a battleship and brought ashore by amphibious soldiers. Both robots and illuminators can be mounted on boats and vehicles, which will be explored as the system is being developed.
