According to an analysis by the Institute for War Research, Russian troops have launched a new offensive north of Avdiivka that has made minimal progress. The Washington-based think tank cited geotagged footage from pro-Kremlin “military bloggers” on the ground. The institute explained that the renewed offensive was taking place “despite heavy losses of material and personnel in the region.”

A Russian missile hit a mail distribution center in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, killing six people and wounding 14, Kharkiv region governor Oleh Synehubov said. Synehubov added that many of the injured were in serious condition in hospital. “This is a purely civilian building,” Synheubov said. Images of the scene posted on Telegram showed a building with blown out windows and scattered building materials.
