Ukraine, One Works engineers and architects ready for new phase of reconstruction of Mykolaiv
One Works engineers and architects are ready for the second phase of Mykolaiv reconstruction. The workshop “Build back better – a vision for Mykolaïv” ended today at the company’s headquarters in Milan, officially opening the second phase of works to develop the reconstruction master plan for the Ukrainian city. The meeting was also attended by the mayor of Mykolayiv, Oleksandr Syenkevc. The intervention is part of the “Un4Mykolaiv” project, launched under the aegis of Unece, which served as a matchmaking to facilitate the encounter between the institutions of Un4Mykolaiv and the Italian One Works, partner of the Center of Excellence in Sustainable Financing for Infrastructures and Smart, to promote cities of Unece and Liuc – University of Cattaneo.
In particular, during the workshop, One Works and its academic partners Politecnico di Milano and Università Liuc – with technical partners GisDevio for digitization, Systematica for transport models, Land for the landscape – illustrated the results of the first phase, which they all see volunteering involved, together with the authorities and institutions of the city of Mykolaiv. A work underlined at the workshop “Impressive Analysis and Preliminary Planning for City Reconstruction” is among the most important cities of Ukraine and among those most affected by the war.
Commenting on the work of the workshop, the Mayor of Mykolayiv, Oleksandr Syenkevc, emphasized that “One Works has done an enormous amount of preparatory work for the creation of a new master plan of the city during our cooperation, and we have given the company’s specialists all the necessary information and access to provided by our georeferencing system”. “A particularly important part of the work for the residents of Mykolayiv – noted the mayor – was their participation in studying the city’s situation. It is important for them to understand what changes await the city and adapt to the participate in the reconstruction process.”
