The US ambassador in Moscow meets the WSJ reporter
American Ambassador to Moscow Lynne Tracy met Evan Gershkovich in prison. This was reported by the newspaper the reporter works for, the Wall Street Journal, and indicated that this was the second interview with the diplomat since her arrest last March. Gershkovich, whose release has been mobilized by media and organizations around the world, was arrested on March 29 by the FSB on charges of espionage while traveling to Yekaterinburg for a report. The reporter pleaded not guilty to the first charges of this kind against an American journalist since the Cold War. In June, Moscow’s Lefortovo District Court upheld his sentence until the end of August.
