Medvedev: “Putin’s arrest would be tantamount to a declaration of war”
An arrest of the Russian president abroad under the mandate of the International Criminal Court (ICC) would become a casus belli, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said, answering questions from journalists and social media users this morning, as reported by Tax reported. “Let’s imagine – this is of course a situation that will never happen, yes – but let’s imagine it actually happens. In that case, all our funds would fly to the Bundestag, the Chancellery and so on.” On the words of German Federal Justice Minister Marco Buschmann, according to which Berlin must execute the judgment of the International Criminal Court and arrest the Russian head of state if he enters German territory, Medvedev noted : “He is aware that would that be a casus belli, a declaration of war?
