Romania will shoot down Russian drones. General Gheorghita Vlad, number 2 of the Bucharest General Staff, announced that the armed forces will intervene to shoot down Russian drones if necessary to protect Romanian territory. 600 men were sent to the Danube Delta region and radar systems were used. “It will depend on the level of threat, we are ready to use all our military might to defend the territory of Romania. We have deployed several radars and taken additional measures, we have discussed this with our NATO allies to find a solution to “counter Russian aggression”.
In recent days, fragments of possibly Russian drones have been found in Romania, 15 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The fragments found were scattered over an area of several tens of meters near the towns of Nufarul and Victoria in Tucea province. There were three discoveries within a few days.
Previously, the alarm was raised in the Tulcea and Galati regions after drones were spotted heading to Ukrainian ports between September 12 and 13.
