Jake Paul scored a convincing first-round knockout win over Andre August on Friday.
The American (8-1, 5 KO), nicknamed “Problem Child,” made short work of his opponent, sending him to the mat with a powerful uppercut. Paul threw just eight punches before knocking August down in just 34 seconds.
Paul, who was often criticized for his fights, had raised the bar this time. August is a professional boxer with 13 fights under his belt. This is only his second loss in his career.
Since 2020, Paul has been an influencer-turned-boxer and is slowly climbing the career ladder in professional boxing.
While his first fights were against web personalities and mixed martial arts fighters with no professional boxing experience, the 26-year-old pugilist only met a “real boxer” for the second time.
After his split decision loss to Tommy Fury last February, Paul returned to the ring with a win over Nate Diaz in August.
