WATCH: A spectacular first goal for Max Pacioretty!

Max Pacioretty scored his first goal in over a year in the Washington Capitals' 4-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night.

The former Canada captain scored a quick one-timer after Alexander Ovechkin sent a pass into the zone.

He scored his first goal in a Capitals jersey. He scored his last goal on January 10, 2023 while wearing the Carolina Hurricanes colors.

The 35-year-old American has come a long way, suffering two Achilles tendon tears in two years. He actually considered retiring last year after the second injury.

Unfortunately for the winger, his goal couldn't help his team win. Tye Kartye, Alex Wennberg, Justin Schultz and Adam Larsson gave the Kraken a red light.

The Capitals have the opportunity to return to winning ways on Sunday against the New York Rangers. For its part, the Seattle team will try to win its ninth straight game against the Blue Jackets on Saturday in Columbus.
