Bryson DeChambeau made the most impressive and unlikely birdie of the year on the LIV course in Miami on Sunday.
The American stunned the gallery on the 16th hole. He initially sent his tee shot straight into the stands near the neighboring green. Even though he couldn’t see the pin at all, he managed to get the ball just 12 feet from the hole with an excellent approach shot. He then made birdie with a perfect putt.
TVA Sports tournament reporter Max Lalonde just couldn’t believe it! “Wow! What a moment! It’s incredible!”
“If DeChambeau makes that putt, it will definitely be the birdie of the year in the entire golf world,” he said shortly before the feat. Watch the video above.
Thanks to his final round of 67 (-5), DeChambeau helped his team, the Crushers, to the top spot with a total of -11. The RangeGoats (-9) and Torque (-6) completed the podium in the final tournament of the 2023 season, held at the Trump National Doral Gold Club.
The amount at stake was $50 million.
