The referee decided to end hostilities in the sixth round, believing the two boxers were not behaving properly. Gotti III obviously didn’t approve of the idea and decided to continue his attack on Mayweather Jr.
The gesture went unappreciated and the entourage of the two boxers found themselves in the ring. There were bumps and even some beatings between the two camps.
Mayweather Jr. (50-0-0, 27 KOs) and Gotti III (2-0-0, 1 KOs) were scheduled to fight eight rounds and two minutes. Retired in 2017, the first of the two athletes continues to fill his pockets with sporadic exhibition bouts.
This time he was up against the grandson of the legendary ex-godfather of the Gambino crime family, one of New York’s five mafia families. Gotti III decided last year to jump into the world of professional boxing after a brief career in mixed martial arts.
