WATCH: Jake DeBrusk plays soccer shoe hockey with kids

Boston Bruins color defender Jake DeBrusk has shown plenty of generosity to his neighbors in Edmonton, his hometown.

On August 27, the 26-year-old attacker surprised a group of children while one of them was celebrating his birthday. DeBrusk took the time to play shoe hockey with the little athletes and even gifted them an autographed stick.

Let’s say he needed to make new friends in this town where the Oilers rule. The young goalkeeper of this impromptu game proudly wore the uniform of the local hero.

DeBrusk is entering the final season of his two-year, $8 million contract. The Albertan had the best season of his career in 2022–2023 after collecting 50 points, including 27 goals, in 64 meetings with the Bruins.
