Nikita Kucherov became the first player this season to reach 100 points in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Sunday at Prudential Center.
Before the game against the Devils, the striker had 98 points to his name. At the start of the second period, he collected two assists, securing his 99th and 100th points of the season.

First, he drew all the New Jersey players before handing the puck to Victor Hedman for his 10th goal of the season. And less than three minutes later, he deflected a puck toward Brayden Point that beat Akira Schmid.
However, the Russian wasn't content with that and was involved in Brandon Hagel's success midway through the third period before firing into an empty net.
So Kucherov now has 102 points in 59 games this year and is headed for a 141-point season. As a reminder, his career best dates back to the 2018-2019 season where he scored 128 points in 82 games.
On the Devils side, only Tyler Toffoli managed to light up the red light.
