Kylie Minogue accepted the Global Icon Award at the BRIT Awards 2024 and also performed during Saturday's ceremony at the O2 Arena in London.
Dua Lipa, who won the Pop Act Award and was a fellow performer at the BRITs, presented the award to Minogue. The Australian pop star has amassed nine UK number one albums and seven UK number one singles over the course of a career spanning more than three decades. As the announcer said during the broadcast: “Kylie is a master of musical reinvention.”
Minogue thanked everyone who supported her in her career and also praised those who came after her. “Right, I’m just going to sob with Raye. Raye, you did that,” she said of the history-making singer who won six awards at the 2024 Brits.
“I've had a lifetime of shared experiences – 36 years and counting – and what really excites me is the love of music and connecting with people.” She added: “Part of me is still that 14-year-old Girl in her room who dreams of making music and being in this industry.” She then appealed to the students of the BRIT school and encouraged them to achieve their dreams.
“I just feel you. I feel your promise and I’m so happy for you,” she said. “And here I am with it. And anything is possible.”
Minogue also ended the evening with an electrifying medley. She began her performance in a bright red dress while towering on a small platform above the stage and singing “Padam Padam.” Once the platform she was standing on was lowered to stage level, she changed into other outfits and other eras, joining her futuristic backup dancers. She ditched her outer red dress and appeared in a black dress with white trim to perform her 2001 megahit “Can't Get You Out of My Head.”

But that was far from the only trick the artist had up his sleeve. A group of people in black capes and masks joined her on stage as she performed another stage costume change, removing her black dress to reveal a white one before beginning “Love at First Sight.”
“Thank you so much,” she said as she walked down the catwalk at the center of the stage. “Thank you so much for being with me on this incredible journey,” she continued, before launching into the euphoric “All the Lovers” to conclude her nearly seven-minute set and the 2024 Brit Awards.
