Nikolau wrote on Twitter: “I fell in love with the Merdeka 118 Tower as soon as I saw it. I felt an instant spiritual connection. Such a majestic building in the middle of an amazing city – I had to discover it and share the view with others.”

She added: “I started the mission. I wore a hijab, glasses and a builder’s uniform to look as unobtrusive as possible. I ran the first 32 floors and overheated. I had to lie down naked on the concrete floor to cool off a bit. I drank all the water I had.’

Nikolau also noted that she rented an apartment with a good view of the tower so she could monitor the building. She spent several weeks researching details that would help her rise.

Nikolau has posted more pictures and videos of her Merdeka Tower adventures on Instagram.

In one post, she said: “I climbed the second tallest building in the world – the MERDEKA TOWER! It’s the most beautiful skyscraper I’ve ever been to.’

Another post shows her in a yoga-like pose at the top of the tower while the camera zooms out to reveal an impressive view of the skyscrapers and mountainous backdrop.

A third post shows her at the top of the tower, posing and playing with her hair.

Nikolaus Instagram account is full of glamorous photos of their adventures.

Her social accounts describe her as the “world’s most extreme roofer girl inspired by art and heights,” as well as an extreme creator and painter.

Malaysian police said in December they were investigating Nikolau and Beerkus for trespassing.

According to the developer, the Merdeka 118 Tower should be completed by mid-2023. A hotel will occupy the top 17 floors.

PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd CEO Tengku Datuk Ab Aziz Tengku Mahmud said in August: “The offices can move in first while the hotel is ready [ready] by the third quarter of next year’.

The building is dwarfed only by the 2,716-foot tall Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which opened on January 4, 2010.
