The trailer for Denys Arcand’s highly anticipated film, willhas just been released and we can see a spectacular cast of Quebec stars (Remy Girard, Sophie Lorain, Guylaine Tremblay, Caroline Néron, Charlotte Aubin, Robert Lepage, Denis Bouchard, René Richard Cyr, Clémence Desrochers, Guillaume Lambert, Danièle). Lorain, Marie-Soleil Dion, Louis-José Houde, Gaston Lepage) and the singer Marie-Mai, who takes part in her first feature film.

The one we know for her talent in music and animation adds even more to her arc by immersing herself in the character Flavie’s skin. In a trailer that lasts just over two minutes, we can see the star in an impressive and suspenseful scene accompanied by Sophie Lorain.
Although it’s Marie-Mai’s first time portraying a character in a feature film, it’s not her first experience in the industry: she has lent her voice to the animated films The Smurfs and Ugly Dolls.

Testament by Denys Arcand hits theaters in Quebec on October 5, 2023.
The film tells the story of “Jean-Michel, a 70-year-old bachelor who has lost his bearings in this society. He lives in a retirement home in a Grade I listed building, managed with care and precision by Suzanne. Their calm is shattered by the arrival of young activists demanding the destruction of a historic fresco. Overwhelmed by an era steeped in political correctness, Jean-Michel will regain faith in humanity through the birth of an unexpected love.
