Things are really not going well for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer (MLS) this season and the team’s best players are frustrated. Lorenzo Insigne also had trouble with a trailer on Sunday evening.

The Italian striker was not part of interim coach Terry Dunfield’s group for the game against FC Cincinnati and therefore took his place in a box. Despite its prime location at BMO Field, Insigne was swept away by an amateur insult.

The 32-year-old veteran exchanged words with members of the crowd and threw the middle finger before being asked to return to his seat.

Despite the arrival of players of caliber like Insigne, a legend in Naples, Toronto FC is having a very complicated season. With the 2-3 defeat against Cincinnati, the Queen City club showed the worst performance in the MLS with 22 points and a difference of -25. The “Reds” have only won four games this year.

For his part, Insigne has scored four goals and as many assists in 19 games over the Garber stretch. He is playing a second season in Toronto, whose contract runs until June 2026.
