Taylor Swift just took her surprise songs to a whole new level when she changed her “Karma” lyrics to include her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The Midnights singer was in the middle of her performance at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Saturday night when she let out an audible signal while singing “Karma” and belted out, “Karma is the guy from the Chiefs who came right after me Home is coming.”
Immediately after Swift sang that line, the entire crowd went wild. Kelce listened intently before singing that line, and when she changed the lyrics, the Kansas City Chiefs star was beside himself. So much so that he hid his face in disbelief and excitement. And as Swift sang those lyrics, her father, Scott Kingsley Swift (who was wearing a Kansas City Chiefs lanyard), tapped Kelce on the shoulder as if to say, “Did you hear that?!?”
Videos capturing the moment are circulating on social media, and the comments section of a Taylor Swift fan account is littered with fans celebrating the moment.
One fan tweeted: “This is the best romantic comedy I’ve ever seen in my life.” Another fan added: “Scott’s laugh…he’s so happy for this girl she’s so happy she’s just the Words changed.”
There’s also a video on social media that captures the moment Swift left the stage after the concert ended, literally ran into Kelce’s arms and planted a big kiss on his lips. They then disappeared backstage.
Before Saturday night’s show, Swift and Kelce enjoyed dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel in Buenos Aires on Friday. They walked into the restaurant holding hands. It was such a momentous event that the restaurant’s guests started clapping and cheering for the adorable couple.
Kelce is on his bye week but must report to practice in Kansas City on Monday. As for Swift, she will have a show on Sunday after being forced to postpone Friday’s show due to inclement weather.
