A very rare event occurred on Thursday in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry scored a goal.
The latter managed to free the puck from his territory and hit the target to confirm his team’s victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The “Pens” won 4 to 2.
Jarry is the 17th goaltender in NHL history to put the puck behind the red line of the opponent’s net and the first to achieve this feat for the Pittsburgh team. The last goal by a masked man in the Bettman circuit was dated February 25th and was the work of Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark.
Other goal scorers for the winner in the duel against the “Bolts” were Jeff Carter, Sidney Crosby and Drew O’Connor. The losers’ response came from the bats of Tanner Jeannot and Steven Stamkos.
