247 President Lula (PT) participated this Monday (23) via videoconference in the simultaneous handover of the housing units of the Minha Casa Minha Vida and in his speech once again condemned the violence, especially against children, in the conflict between Israel and Hamas of the Gaza Strip. He also mentioned the violence in Brazil, citing psychological and financial instability as the reason for this phenomenon.
“We will complete every word I said during the electoral process. Because this country deserves to live in peace, this country deserves to live with love, it deserves to live without hate. Just yesterday the death of a child with his own father’s gun occurred in São Paulo. It is not possible. I see the number of children killed in Palestine, in Gaza and in Israel. It is not possible. We are killing the future of humanity, the future of our country. This is a lack of psychological stability, salary stability and educational stability. And we, with Minha Casa, Minha Vida, want to give you the right to have your own nest and create your family,” he explained.
He also reiterated what he had recently posted on X, formerly Twitter: “We cannot normalize accessible guns for young people.” that you can expand over time to create an additional room, a little more space. That gives people citizenship, it gives decency. When I asked Minister Jader [Barbalho] We have set up a library in every apartment complex because it is a necessity for us to see our children reading, to encourage them to read and to encourage anyone who has a book to donate it. What we don’t want is a child with a gun, committing violence and learning. We want children to study because the greatest pride of a father and mother is to live in a small house and see their children study in a nearby house and watch the child grow up. Until one day, if God helps, we see this child get to a university.”
