The ax falls on the nostalgia tour in January 2024 For a one night standwhich stars Marie Carmen, Marie-Denise Pelletier and Joe Bocan despite its runaway success which has just earned it a gold ticket to celebrate the sale of 50,000 tickets.
Producer Martin Leclerc says he has no choice but to make that decision due to the commitments of the three singers.
“We could have gone on for another year and a half because several networks would like to air the show again, but since each of the girls has projects, we’re stopping next January.”
According to Martin Leclerc, the craftsmen of this tour do not plan lightly to turn the page at the end of the twenty performances planned for the next few months.
“It’s heartbreaking for everyone. At the end of the week we had a big event with the Orchester symphonique de Québec where there was a lot of emotion. Both the girls, the technical team and the musicians, we all have a sense of belonging and we are sad to see that the end is coming, even if everyone has a desire to move on.
The door will not close to restart the machine in two or three years, Martin Leclerc specifies, if everyone’s schedules allow it.

Thanks for the reviews
Launched under difficult conditions amid a pandemic, the show For a one-night story exceeded its producer’s expectations. At the start line, Martin Leclerc felt it was feasible to sell 25,000 tickets.
He doubled his prediction.
“This is the first time I’ve hit 50,000 for a music show. We did it this winter with Symphorien at six months, in humor it’s more common, but in music it’s extremely rare.
He credits the production’s success to meeting three of our most brilliant singers, word of mouth and rave reviews following the Montreal premiere.
At a time when anyone can comment on a show on social media, according to Martin Leclerc, media opinion remains crucial.
“If we have a good review in Le Journal de Montréal, Le Devoir or La Presse, it stays. People see it, read it. It has a significant reach and gives the show exposure when an article is written by a reputable medium.
For inspiration
Does Martin Leclerc want to replace Pour une histoire d’un soir with another nostalgic show concept? Yes, but he admits that he didn’t find the right idea.
“Right now I have no inspiration. I haven’t found a formula that could be that powerful and affect that many people,” he says.
He can afford patience, because in addition to the tour with the piece Symphorien he is currently producing the concert series by Daniel Lavoie and Adamo. In 2024 he will co-produce the theatrical adaptation of the TV series Moi et l’autre, signed by Kim Lévesque Lizotte.
- At the conclusion of their respective tours, the shows For a one night stand And tell me how much i love youby Luce Dufault, will be presented consecutively at two special events on January 17 and 24, 2024 at the Grand Théâtre de Québec and the Théâtre des Deux-Rives in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
