Despite its controversial ending Lost: the missing thing remains a true phenomenon and continues to be one of the greatest series of all time for most critics and viewers. The novel, which was released in the USA in 2004, quickly caused a stir and fascinated viewers for six seasons. The focus is on survivors whose plane crashed on a mysterious island. Lost: the missing thing also contains supernatural and science fiction elements. But what is the first episode of this two-part series worth almost 20 years after it started? While we recently asked ourselves the question of “Once Upon A Time” or “Un, dos, tres,” this week the editorial team at Télé-Loisirs decided to watch the pilot of “Once Upon A Time” again Lost: the missing thingwhich is available in its entirety on Disney+.
The strength of Lost: the missing thing is its multitude of characters played by unforgettable actors for series fans
If I loved to follow Lost I have never watched another episode of the series since. That's why I'm excited to start this pilot because it's like discovering a new fiction. Other than a few memories and the major storylines, I couldn't really remember how the series started. From the beginning, “Lost” caught my attention and intrigued me. Starting with the survivors on the island without showing us the plane crash is a good idea that makes my questions even more exciting. Who are you ? What happened ? Where are they ? So many questions I can't answer! Another fact that I was happy to rediscover: the casting! I had forgotten that from the beginning there were all these actors that we then found in series that became essential. It's a pleasure to see again Matthew Fox (who might not have won the role of Jack if that star hadn't turned it down), Evangeline Lilly, Terry O'Quinn, Jorge Garcia, Naveen Andrews, Daniel Dae Kim, Emilie de Ravin and Ian Somerhalder, Dominic Monaghan, Josh Holloway and even Kim Yoon-jin. A talented and diverse cast. Each character's personality is different and I enjoy learning more about them. I feel like they're all hiding secrets and I'm wondering.

Lost: the missing, a successful pilot, but contains too much slowness
The exchange and relationships between the heroes interest me and are slowly taking shape. As for the mystery surrounding the crash and the island, that creates tension. I like it even more when the series shows the characters on the plane through flashbacks before it crashes. Like a puzzle, I try to put the pieces together and learn more. However, there is one point that annoys me: the slowness of this beginning Lost. Sure the fiction builds up its characters and starts to establish the fact that there could be supernatural events, but I find it quite slow. While I enjoyed this two-part pilot, I thought I would make it more exciting. I didn't get carried away like that and I almost regret it.
