The Liberal Party of Canada’s (PLC) national convention is being held this weekend in Trois-Rivières against a backdrop of “discontent” among members, according to political analyst Marc-André Leclerc.

More and more voices are being heard calling for Justin Trudeau’s resignation, while a former chief of staff to Jean Chrétien speaks out publicly this week.
The polls are not favorable to the Liberal prime minister’s troops and power is waning.

“We have been sensing fatigue within the Liberal troops for some time. We see that the polls are not very good for Justin Trudeau. “Since May 28, Mr. Trudeau has been in second place behind the Conservatives in 37 consecutive polls,” Mr. Leclerc said.

As he enters his ninth year in office, Justin Trudeau must juggle the declining morale of MPs and members.
Liberal MPs from coastal provinces even voted with Conservative troops to abolish the carbon tax, he notes.
Marc-André Leclerc also points out the politician’s lack of leadership on international issues such as the diplomatic crisis with India and the war in the Middle East.
