The can of WhiskeyLime from the Wabasso Distillery in Trois-Rivières impressed the approximately 70 jurors at this event. They evaluated the taste, aroma and expertise of more than 500 liquid applications from around the world.
Wabasso makes its award-winning brew with Canadian whiskey, lime juice, ginger and a barely perceptible hint of hot pepper. As soon as you open the can, your nose will notice a sweet and long-lasting scent reminiscent of ginger ale.
In the mouth we discover an almost summery side. With a smile, we try the sweet lime flavor, directly inspired by the famous Key Lime Pie. It doesn’t taste like a dessert, but it’s cleverly reminiscent of one.
A subtle whiskey note then spreads gently in the mouth. At this moment, the heat of the alcohol (no doubt supported by the hot pepper) gently and pleasantly caresses the back of our throat. In short, it is drunk straight.
The WhiskeyLime has the audacity to shoot in multiple directions…and shoot at anything. It will appeal to both whiskey lovers looking for a thirst-quenching drink and discovery-hungry foodies of all ages. It’s an excellent way to democratize whiskey… or simply treat yourself to a delicious ready-made drink.
