The Flyers clinched the tie with a 3-2 shootout win at the Wells Fargo Center. Sean Couturier, who provided an assist and played more than 23 minutes, received a big reward by scoring the winning goal in the shootout.

“We weren't there, we were hoping for a point,” admitted Martin St-Louis after the game.

After a phase in which CH only fired two shots, the score was 2-1 for the guests. The score on the scoreboard did not reflect the pace of the game.

“To be honest, we didn’t deserve the lead,” St-Louis said. But we had it. There are such similarities. We were on the other side of it. There are meetings where we deserve better. We earned less in the evening. We know we didn't play a good first half. »

Zero attack

David Savard scored his team's second goal of the first period, firing a shot that deflected in off Morgan Frost. Juraj Slafkovsky also stood in front of the net to block Samuel Ersson's view.

In the opposing team's locker room, Savard tried to explain his team's lack of offensive cohesion.

“The Flyers apply good pressure and retreat well,” he noted. There aren't many plays in the neutral zone. We shot ourselves in the foot, we didn't do well. The puck also bounced a lot. »

Thanks to Primeau

Cayden Primeau inherited the third star title thanks to 37 saves, including 15 in the third period and 7 in overtime. However, according to his own statement, he was not in top shape.

“I personally thought it was my most chaotic start, especially in the beginning,” Primeau said. I fought to give my teammates a chance to win. First, my brain was there, but my feet weren't moving well. I was slow in several games. By the third hour I started to feel better. »
