Weather: Cold weather sets in for a few days in Quebec

Cold weather will set in for a few days in most parts of Quebec, including in the eastern sectors where a winter storm will hit that will leave up to 30 centimeters of snow on the ground in places.

Thus, the cloudy weather in western Quebec will be characterized by a few snow showers without large accumulations, but mercury levels will fall, especially in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and surrounding areas.

On the other hand, the weather in Montreal on Wednesday will be sunny, with gusts of 50 km/h, although this could bring a few clouds in the sky, while the thermometer shows temperatures of -9 degrees with a wind influence of -22 to -17.

The same scenario is expected in the center of the province, with more clouds in Beauce and Estrie, where it will be colder, while areas a little further north could see some snow showers.

According to Environment Canada, which has issued a winter storm warning, the snow that began Tuesday evening will continue and cause blowing snow in certain areas of eastern Quebec that are benefiting from rising mercury levels.

The storm, which has hit these areas since Tuesday evening, is expected to leave almost 20 centimeters of snow on the ground, accompanied by strong winds and blowing snow, according to federal forecasts.
