Wednesday should be generally clear and cool across western Quebec, although some areas in the east and central parts of the province could see snow showers during the day.
Like the previous day, Environment Canada issued a snow warning in the Mont-Albert and Murdochville sectors, where 15 to 25 centimeters of snowfall is expected between Wednesday and Thursday morning.
“During heavy snowfall, visibility can suddenly be reduced at times,” the federal authority said in writing on Wednesday.
Destructive winds were also warned in the Blanc-Sablon region, where gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour could “carry objects away” and “cause injury or damage” from Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, Environment Canada added.
In the Chevery and Natashquan sectors, still in eastern Quebec, an accumulation of 50 to 70 millimeters of rain is expected to litter the ground by Wednesday evening.
In the west and center of the province, the federal authority expects clearing very early on Wednesday morning with a maximum of 4 degrees in the region of the metropolises of Montreal and Lanaudière and a maximum of 1 degree in the national capital.
Some central regions, including Estrie, Beauce, Laurentides and Lac-Saint-Jean, could see some snow showers in the morning, although the afternoon should be clear with temperatures barely below freezing.
