Quebecers can still enjoy the mild weather across the province, but the situation could get even worse if a system sets in that brings cold weather and precipitation that could impact the western sectors of the province.
This system from Colorado will irrigate several parts of the province, but Abitibi in particular and then the St. Lawrence Valley, particularly the south bank, will benefit the most.
These sectors like Abitibi could see quite the winter cocktail with snow and even the threat of freezing rain if temperatures are positive, according to Environment Canada.
Montreal and the surrounding area could receive up to 20 millimeters of rain on Wednesday after a morning drizzle, but temperatures will be a pleasant 5 degrees, according to the federal agency's forecasts.
In the center of the province the weather will be cloudy with a chance of showers in the afternoon, while temperatures in areas a little further north will be above freezing.
Cloud cover will also impact eastern Quebec, but the mercury would drop in certain areas where temperatures could drop to minus 7 degrees, as is the case on the north coast.
This drop in mercury levels isn't just affecting the east of the province, as temperatures will follow a downward trend across Quebec by the weekend and fall back below seasonal norms.
