Weather in Quebec: The storm rages on

Weather will be cloudy across most of Quebec on Saturday, with snow showers expected across the province as the storm rages on.

In western Québec, namely in Montreal, Laval, Vaudreuil, Vallée-du Richelieu and Saint-Hyacinthe, the probability of showers increases to 30% at the beginning of the day, before moving towards a sun-cloud alternation around noon. Winds are estimated to be 15 km/h high with wind chill approaching -13. We can expect similar forecasts in the Laurentians and Lanaudière.

The same goes for Estrie, Chaudière-Appalaches, Mauricie and the Capitale-Nationale, where there is a 40% chance of snow showers. The winds here reach a speed of about 20 km/h, with stable temperatures around -5 and clearings in the middle of the day. For Centre-du-Québec, the forecasts are essentially the same, but with an alternation of sun and clouds extending through the middle of the day and light winds with a maximum temperature of -4.

The sun shows up a little more in the Outaouais, where winds reach 15 km/h and a temperature of -8. Similar predictions await Abitibi-Témiscamingue with a maximum of -15. In particular, the risk of frostbite can be predicted for the region. In North-Québec, too, there will be periods of sunshine, especially at the beginning of the day, which will give way to sun-cloud changes in the afternoon, especially in Schefferville. Here, too, frostbite is to be expected for the region.

Saguenay will be generally cloudy, with westerly winds of 20 km/h becoming weak at midday while Lac-Saint-Jean will clear up. Wind chill for the regions is forecast to be around -20.

Finally, rain is expected for the Madelinots. Residents of the Iles-de-la-Madeleine will face freezing rain, but only for the afternoon. In the late afternoon wafts of fog form. Up to 30 millimeters of rain are forecast.
