In Quebec, temperatures are slowly returning to seasonal normals and the mild weather is easing with rain, while snow is finally expected to fall in the east of the province on Saturday.

A fine carpet of snow is expected in the far east and south of the province during the day, according to Environment Canada forecasts.

Rainfall is expected to continue until Sunday morning in Gaspésie, Bas-Saint-Laurent and the north coast, where the largest accumulations of between 2 and 4 cm are expected.

Snow showers are also forecast in Saguenay from Saturday to Sunday.

Intermittent snow and freezing drizzle are expected in Abitibi from morning to midday. Clouds are expected to continue overnight into Sunday.

In the far south of the province, expected accumulations are less than 1 cm. For the Montreal, Outaouais and Lanaudière region, Saturday will remain cloudy despite the lack of rain and temperatures will be colder than the previous week.

Intermittent snowfall is expected in the Quebec region throughout the day, but this should clear overnight and give way to semi-clear skies on Sunday
