Even though Sunday’s morning promises to be quite sunny, Quebec residents can still expect a cloudy end to the day and snow in certain regions, a trend that is expected to continue throughout the week.
In Montreal we can expect a change of sun and clouds until late afternoon. Rain showers are expected overnight and lasting until midday Monday. The mercury temperature will reach a maximum of 5°C, however due to a southwesterly wind the temperature may feel colder.
In the National Capital Region, Sunday will be characterized by generally cloudy skies and strong winds. The night will bring some surprises with precipitation in the form of rain and snow. Environment Canada experts are predicting a possible accumulation of 5 cm by Monday.
Clear skies are expected in Estrie with a maximum temperature of 2°C. In the afternoon, southeasterly winds blow, providing a touch of freshness. Clouds are expected to cover the sky in the evening, followed by rain and snow overnight, potentially leaving clouds up to 2cm thick.
In the Outaouais we are forecasting a mix of sun and clouds, with a small chance of snow showers on Sunday morning. The maximum temperature will reach 3°C. Rain and snow are expected overnight, with accumulations of 2cm in places.
In Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the sky will remain cloudy throughout the day, with the chance of snow increasing. Snowfall may reach 2 cm during the day and 4 cm overnight.
In the Saguenay region, skies will be mostly cloudy, changing to a mix of sun and clouds on Sunday morning. Even if a maximum temperature of 1°C is forecast, people in this region will need to cover up when going outside as winds can reach -9°C in the afternoon.
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning of up to 90 km/h for the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region and Anticosti Island until Monday.
