Even bitterly cold slush didn’t deter climate activists from their sticky lockdown in Leipzig, Germany, on Friday.
The “last generation” climate activists obviously don’t let wind and weather stop them from their disruptive actions. The organization’s German branch has now held a roadblock in the middle of Leipzig, Saxony, during a heavy snowfall.
According to the group, two activists were trapped, but in the middle of the road there was “room for the rescue road, as usual”.
“We are unwavering in our determination to preserve a livable planet for all,” the activists wrote on Twitter of the self-published recordings.
“Biggest Challenge”
They are also demanding a speed limit of 100 on the Autobahn in Germany and a permanent €9 ticket for national public transport. This should allow the rapid reduction of emissions.
“Climate catastrophe is the greatest challenge and danger for all people. It’s on us. We can’t do it without energetic peaceful resistance!” according to “Last Generation”.
