Weather: when does the sun return in Martinique? Martinique 1st

Storm Bret, the first major phenomenon of the hurricane season, swept across Martinique on the night of June 22-23, 2023. But the clouds and the rain remain. A situation that is likely to continue, especially since a tropical wave is expected by Tuesday 27 June.

The day after the Bret storm passed through Martinique and despite the return to green, clouds prevailed early in the weekend. A fascinating situation. Usually the clouds are sucked in by the phenomena and the following days are particularly beautiful.

After a morning obscured by harmless high clouds and heavy showers, the sky is only slowly clearing. However, the high clouds are less and less present in the afternoon and the sun shows up beautifully, although a few drops may fall. The night is calm and starry.

For Saturday “the wind will be from the east, averaging between 15 and 25 km/h inland and up to 30 km/h on the Atlantic coast. Some gusts of around 60 km/h are possible on Pelée in the morning. “The sea is slowly getting softer. In the Atlantic it is rough and in the channels there are average depths of 1.40 to 1.90 m. In the Caribbean it is nice on the coast, not very rough off the coast with wave depths of 1.10,” explain the specialists .

Good news, the night from Saturday 24th June to Sunday 25th June should be calm and marked by a change. Indeed, the return of the sun is expected for the last day of the weekend. The thinning should only be short-lived, new showers are forecast for the afternoon.

The morning starts with a dominant sun and a cloudy sky. From noon the trade winds become very weak, so that clouds can form on the relief. So some showers irrigate the northern Caribbean coast. Towards evening the weather calms down again.

For Sunday “the wind is very light and changeable. It blows at less than 15 km/h. A sea breeze is likely to set in on the Caribbean coast. In the Atlantic the sea is rough and the channels have average lows of around 1.40m. In the Caribbean it is beautiful on the coast, not very rough offshore with average dips of less than 1m,” say the meteorologists.

The next day, Monday, the weather is the same as the day before, sun in the morning, rain showers in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, with the approach of a tropical wave, the sky will be filled with showers. They appear more frequently in the afternoon and sometimes stop. Wind and sea hardly vary.

Wet weather with occasional thunderstorms will persist on Wednesday. The wind and the sea will rise slightly.

A gradual improvement will be seen on Thursday 29 June, with drier weather returning in the afternoon.
